Good to see that the bog-standard play-cricket website has been tarted up, hopefully a work in progress as a history tab has been created but this is all the is on the about tab.
Established in 1902, Castleford Cricket Club, with a rich history of talented home grown players taking to the Golden Acre, we are now looking to the next generation, and moving forward to continuing the good work in further establishing Savile Park as the hub of the sporting community.
The 1st XI, after winning promotion back to the ECB Yorkshire Premier League North in dramatic circumstances in 2017, are looking to improve again in 2018 in the top division in the county, and the 2nd XI are looking to continue to nurture the clubs exciting young players in the York third tier.
We are also continuing to address the need to improve and increase junior participation in 2018, and after the success of the junior programmes, All Stars Cricket and Enjoy Cricket 2017, under the guiding hand of club captain David Wainwright, we are looking to increase the number of junior players participating at all age group levels for the forthcoming season, and are already busy putting together plans for 2018.
