Dewsbury Super League

The Dewsbury and District league used to pride itself on the number of clubs that it had in their leagues, a point still referenced on their website.

What they never seemed to understand was the standards of the grounds and teams. When I used to do the "tins" for Hanover Street Congs there were teams like Hanging Heaton, Soothill and Wrenthorpe in the top division. These teams left and were replaced by "parks" teams.

The Dewsbury league now was an easy hit. All games being played at Sands lane, Dewsbury & Leeds Road, Huddersfield.

Special mention to Hon. Life Vice President/Vice Chair/Treasurer & Results Secretary Stan Gostellow, he's been "on the board" for donkeys years.

Dewsbury United

Although there's a game listed for 2019, I don't think that this club still exists.
Certainly don't feature on the league table.
Probably rebranded.
