Netherton (Wakefield) Cricket Club

Judging by the state of the website and ground, it looks like Netherton has folded.

WELCOME TO NETHERTON CRICKET CLUB HOMEPAGE.
WE ARE A SMALL VILLAGE CRICET TEAM SITUATED IN THE WAKEFIELD AREA AND HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR OVER 100 YEARS.
WE ARE NEW TO THE PONTEFRACT LEAGUE THIS YEAR AND WILL BE PLAYING IN DIVISIONS 4 AND 7 WEST AND WILL BE LOOKING TO BE PROGRESSING THROUGHOUT THE LEAGUE.
IF ANYONE WISHES TO JOIN OUR TEAM OR ARE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING OR SPONSORING PLEASE RING LIAM NEWTON (FIRST TEAM CAPTAIN) ON 07551921132 FOR MORE INFORMATION

I should have a soft spot for this ground, (Hackney Marshes) it is where I played my first game for Crossbank Methodist Cricket Club. I think it must have been 1975, 8 runs all scored down through third man.

Unfortunately, an over-riding memory is of playing there a few years later, when our Tommy Trundler, who got loads of wickets, was smashed all over the place by, I think it was, Gary Newton.
He got a very large hundred, and I remember running up and down the banking, jumping the fence, crossing the road and fetching the ball from the field on the other side.
Repeat, Repeat, Repeat......you get the picture.
